I am proud to say that this is my seventh year teaching kindergarten here at Tamayo! Prior to teaching here, I was a resource teacher for four years in Hinsdale District 181 where I spent two years in first grade and two years in fifth. Before that, I was a substitute teacher for two years in district 201. My family is originally from Chicago, my mother grew up in Pilsen on 22 street, and in the late 1960's moved out to the suburbs, which back then was called "the country." I now reside in the suburbs with my family and my dachshund, Oscar. My passion is trying to make sure that no matter where students live they have equal opportunities for the best education. You may be surprised to know that I LOVE hiking and kayaking. Most recently I was hiking in Muir Woods and kayaked with otters and sea lions in California.
