I am excited to begin my third year at Rufino Tamayo as a Special Education/Resource Teacher. I have worked with children for more than 10 years in many different settings. I’m a native of Chicago and I’m excited to be living my life goal of teaching and giving back to my hometown. I believe education is an entity that all are given, an equal opportunity to experience. In upholding this concept, I believe inclusion is a huge component in making this possible for everyone. Inclusion constitutes students from all walks of life, regardless of their academic and mental capabilities being a part of as classroom community. Ultimately my goal as a teacher is:

  • to promote positive learning;
  • to spark learner enthusiasm for learning;
  • and to provide a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

My personal goal is to learn more Spanish and learn Sign language. When I’m not teaching, I love traveling and exploring the world and all it has to offer as well as doing any craft activity. A few of my favorites include the color pink, listening to music, shopping, and getting crazy nail designs.

Finally, I want you to know that one of my most important goals this year is to keep the lines of communication open with you. I am available every day to talk with you between 7:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. and between 3:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Please don’t hesitate to contact me @ 773-434-6355 Ex: 2325 or [email protected] if you have any questions or concerns during the year.
