B.A. Elementary Education, Trinity International University
M.A. Curriculum & Instruction, University of Phoenix

My name is Tim Gustafson, but the students call me Mr. G. I have been the K-8 Case Manager and 6th-8th grade Resource Teacher at Tamayo since the 2012-2013 school year. I spent my first six years out of college outside the field of education in advertising, sales, senior care and other fields before coming back to education. Prior to joining Tamayo, I worked in schools in Glencoe, IL and Waukegan, IL.  My favorite subjects are History and Math. My favorite part about being a teacher is building relationships with students and families and helping students become more independent and build confidence. I am also passionate about social justice and feel that education is one of the areas where I can help make a difference.

My wife Alice and I have been married since 2006 and we have one son, Yael, born in 2014. She also started her career outside the field of education, but has been a teacher since 2012. We love to travel together and have been to Africa, Asia, Europe and Central America.
I love music, reading and enjoy sports and movies.

I look forward to another great year at Tamayo and am thankful for the wonderfull staff I get to work with every day!
