Tasha Richardson 5/6 Math Teacher
I am proud to be a member of the Tamayo family and the new 5th and 6th grade math teacher this year. I am from Summit, Illinois, but I have lived in Pilsen since 2011. I am a mother of two toddlers, a boy and girl. I also have a twin who is a teacher too. In my spare time, I love to make traditional meals from around the world vegan and gluten-free such as papusas, pozole, arroz con gandules, and ajiaco, and sanocho. I also like to watch Korean novelas.
I am entering my 7th year teaching, and beginning my 4th school year with Acero. I have spent the last 3 years as a Bilingual Specialist and English Program Language teacher at Acero Carlos Fuentes in Avondale. I graduated from Northwestern University with a B.S. in Human Development and Psychological Services. After an impactful experience working in schools beginning in 2010 and as an AmeriCorps member in 2012, I became inspired to become a teacher. This led me to pursue a Masters in Teaching with Dominican University with a focus in Bilingual Education and English as a Second Language. I have a passion for service, language, and mathematics. I have additional endorsements in Middle School Math and Special Education (LBS1). I am currently pursuing a Masters in Mathematics Education at DePaul University. I am excited to serve alongside you all!
